Yes. The N1 Series is designed for mixed-brand AV systems and supports a wide range of AVoIP technologies and manufacturers. Netvio360 Port Profiles simplify configuration for different video platforms, including JPEG2000, H.265, NDI-based systems and more.
No. The N1 Series is optimized for professional AVoIP networking, but its capabilities extend far beyond video. The same network can support Dante audio, AES67, lighting, control systems, security devices, wireless access points, computers and general network devices.
Yes. Audio, video, lighting, control, security and standard network devices can coexist on the same N1 network. Simply select the appropriate Port Profile for each connected device and Netvio360 applies the required network configuration.
Port Profiles are pre-configured network settings optimized for different devices and applications. Simply identify what is connected to each port and select the appropriate profile. Netvio360 then applies the required network configuration, reducing setup time and removing unnecessary networking complexity.
We recommend proceeding with caution. Netvio N1 Series switches can be integrated into networks that include switches from other manufacturers; however, the configuration required on the third-party network equipment may be more complex.
The Netvio side of the installation can be configured and managed through Netvio360, but settings on third-party switches may need to be configured separately to ensure correct operation, particularly for AV over IP, Dante and other network services.
We recommend discussing the proposed network design with Netvio Technical Support before proceeding with a mixed-manufacturer installation.
Yes. Every N1 switch includes 4 x 10Gb SFP+ ports, allowing multiple switches to be linked together for larger installations. Once connected, the complete multi-switch system can be configured and managed through Netvio360 from a single interface. SFP+ transceiver modules are not supplied with N1 switches, allowing the appropriate fibre or copper connection to be selected for each installation.
No. N1 is designed to make managed networking accessible to AV professionals without requiring advanced networking knowledge. Netvio360 handles the underlying network configuration based on the Port Profiles you select.
N1 switches are configured using Netvio360 which is free software you can download. Connect your computer to the N1 network, discover the switches and use the single-page workflow to assign the appropriate Port Profile to each port. Netvio360 then applies the required configuration.
Yes. N1-08P, N1-24P and N1-48P switches can be combined within the same installation, allowing the network to be sized around the requirements of the project and expanded as those requirements grow.
No. Netvio360 provides a centralized, single-page workflow for configuring multiple linked N1 switches, eliminating the need to navigate and configure each switch independently.
No. The N1 Series is designed specifically to simplify professional networking for AV integrators. Port Profiles and simplified Netvio360 workflows remove much of the jargon and complexity traditionally associated with managed network switches.
No. Netvio360 communicates directly with N1 switches over the local network, so an Internet connection is not required for configuration. We do, however, recommend using a router or DHCP server to provide IP addresses to devices connected to the network.
Yes. All N1 Series models support PoE+ for powering compatible connected devices. The N1-08P provides a 150W PoE budget, the N1-24P provides 450W and the N1-48P provides 900W.
