If some displays are UHD and others are Full HD, the splitter automatically delivers a 4K signal to capable displays while downscaling to 1080p for those that require it. In addition to passing audio through HDMI, the splitter can extract audio via optical (S/PDIF) and 3.5 mm stereo outputs. Optical supports multi-channel formats such as Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, and more, while the 3.5 mm stereo port outputs standard PCM 2.0. This allows audio to be routed separately to AV receivers, soundbars, or stereo amplifiers without additional hardware.
The unit offers two EDID management modes via a simple dial switch: AUTO compares the EDID of all connected displays and negotiates the best common resolution for the source.
