Dante AV-A extends Audinate’s world-leading audio networking into video, creating one unified platform for distributing both over standard IP networks. This removes the need for separate cabling systems, simplifies design, and lowers overall costs.
Supporting 4K60 4:4:4 video with sub-frame latency and HDCP-protected content, Dante AV-A delivers cinema-quality performance on gigabit Ethernet. With seamless integration into the vast Dante ecosystem, it enables scalable, flexible, and future-proof AV systems that meet the demands of modern installations.
Products that have just Dante carry audio-over-IP only. They let you move multichannel audio across a network with precision, low latency, and wide interoperability — but video still has to be handled separately (HDMI, HDBaseT, Standard AVoIP, etc.).
Dante AV-A, on the other hand, adds video transport into the same Dante ecosystem. That means both audio and video can be distributed, synchronized, and controlled on a single IP network with one management platform. It eliminates the split infrastructure and gives installers true end-to-end AV-over-IP within the same workflow.
👉 In short: Dante = audio only. Dante AV-A = audio + video together, unified and synchronized.
Netvio’s two-mode approach to Dante AV-A delivers both openness and optimization.
In Native Mode, Netvio endpoints operate as standard Dante AV-A devices, streaming audio and video with full interoperability across the wider Dante ecosystem. This ensures compatibility with other manufacturers’ Dante-enabled products and is ideal for enterprise-scale, mixed-brand installations.
In Enhanced Mode, Dante AV-A is optimized within the Netvio ecosystem. This unlocks advanced features such as ContentPlus+ dual-stream RTSP, simplified configuration through Netvio360, and seamless end-user control via NetvioGo. Installers benefit from the same low-latency, pixel-perfect video performance while gaining extra functionality and faster deployment.
In Netvio Enhanced Mode, installers should use Netvio’s own IP-SW Series switches, which are fully preconfigured for plug-and-play performance with up to around 45 devices. These deliver multicast, PoE, and ContentPlus+ support straight out of the box, making them the fastest way to deploy Netvio AVoIP.
For larger systems over 45 devices or when running in full Dante AV-A Mode, Netvio recommends moving to approved enterprise-grade switches from Netgear or Cisco. These models meet Audinate’s Dante AV-A requirements for IGMP, jumbo frames, and QoS, ensuring reliability and interoperability across the wider Dante ecosystem.
No — you don’t need the IP-JP4-CL-10 controller when running in Dante AV-A mode. In this mode, devices are discovered and managed through Audinate’s Dante Controller and Dante Domain Manager, just like other Dante products.
The controller is only required in Netvio Enhanced Mode, where it provides centralized setup, management, and advanced features such as ContentPlus+ streaming, Netvio360 configuration, and NetvioGo control integration.
👉 In short: Dante AV-A Mode = managed with Dante Controller, no Netvio CL needed. Netvio Mode = CL-10 required for Netvio’s ecosystem features.
In Netvio Mode, you can use all the standard Netvio drivers compatible across the entire Netvio product range, as well as enjoy seamless integration with Netvio360, NetvioGo, and AppBuilder for configuration and end-user control.
In Dante AV-A Mode, control is handled through third-party platforms, with official drivers for Crestron, Q-SYS, and AMX available for download. A full Dante AV-A API document is also available upon request, enabling deeper integration into enterprise-class AV systems.
Netvio provides a simple utility software, available as a free download, to configure the AV settings of encoders and decoders. In Netvio Mode, devices are then discovered and managed through Netvio360, with seamless integration to NetvioGo and AppBuilder. In Dante AV-A Mode, devices are managed using Audinate’s Dante Controller, with Dante Domain Manager available for advanced configuration.
Yes — but not with Netvio360. Dante AV-A devices are controlled and monitored through Audinate’s Dante Domain Manager, which supports secure remote access and monitoring via the cloud. This allows integrators and IT managers to manage Dante AV-A endpoints, user permissions, and system health from anywhere.
👉 In short: Netvio360 covers Netvio Mode. For Dante AV-A Mode, cloud control/monitoring is handled through Audinate’s Dante Domain Manager.
Dante AV-A
4K60 4:4:4 video quality delivers pixel-for-pixel perfection, with every pixel carrying full color data at a smooth 60 frames per second.
This ensures sharper text, vibrant colors, and lifelike motion—essential for control rooms, video walls, high-end home cinema, and immersive presentations, and increasingly critical with larger displays

One Product, Two Opportunities
Netvio's JP4-60-DNT encoders and decoders have multi-modes according to project requirements. Deployed as a part of smaller Netvio managed solution or cloud managed by the latest Dante AV-A software and tools, the JP4-60-DNT series is a versatile product fully licensed out of the box.

Netvio Mode
Netvio Mode is an extension to a conventional AVoIP project, adding JP-DNT devices to enable Dante streaming capabilities. System configuration is managed by Netvio360, with encoder & decoder control using IP-JP4-CL-10.

AV-A Mode
AV-A is the newest video management platform by Dante. In contrast to Netvio Mode, Dante AV-A is managed and controlled exclusively by familar Audinate software tools including Controller, Domain Manager where value add features such as remote access are inclusive.
