Cat5e or Cat6 cabling is typically sufficient for most signal transmissions. However, for higher resolutions over longer distances, Cat6a is recommended to ensure optimal performance.
Transmission distances are approximate and can vary depending on environmental factors and installation quality. The EX-403 supports distances of up to 40 meters (131ft) for 4K signals and approximately 70 meters (231 ft) for 1080p
⚠️ Note: Pre-made patch cables using stranded copper (common in consumer-grade products) may not achieve the advertised transmission distances. For optimal performance, use solid copper cables typically found in professional installations.
Both the transmitter and receiver support bidirectional IR and RS-232 signal transmission.
This allows control signals to be sent from the source to the display—and vice versa—enabling full system control from either end of the extender link.
The EX-701 includes RS-232 connectors and all necessary IR extension cables for straightforward integration.
