For best results, Netvio strongly recommends using CAT6 or CAT6a shielded twisted pair cable for all long-distance HDMI transmission. While CAT5e or CAT6 may be sufficient for shorter runs, premium cabling will help guarantee full 4K60 4:4:4 performance across the stated distances and reduce the risk of signal degradation.
Always ensure that cables are terminated to the TIA/EIA-568B standard and avoid running them alongside mains power cables to minimize interference.
⚠️ Note: Pre-made patch cables using stranded copper (common in consumer-grade products) may not achieve the advertised transmission distances. For optimal performance, use solid copper cables typically found in professional installations.
The EX-HT2-402-10 supports the full HDMI 2.0b specification at 18Gbps, making it capable of handling today’s highest-quality video signals. This includes 4K60Hz 4:4:4 chroma sampling with full HDR support up to 40m (131ft), as well as 1080p60 Full HD signals up to 70m (230ft). By preserving pixel-for-pixel accuracy, the extender ensures pristine video delivery even for demanding applications such as LED walls, large-format displays, and home cinema systems.
Yes. The unit is fully compatible with leading HDR formats, including HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. This guarantees that your system will accurately reproduce expanded color gamuts and enhanced contrast ranges when used with HDR-capable displays. Whether in residential cinema, corporate boardrooms, or commercial signage, HDR support ensures that video content is delivered with maximum visual impact and fidelity.
Alongside video, the EX-HT2-402-10 passes through HDMI audio formats such as PCM stereo, Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DSD. This ensures that immersive multi-channel audio tracks remain intact from the source to the display or audio processor. Installers can confidently use the extender in high-end AV environments knowing that both audio and video integrity are preserved.
The HDMI Loop Out on the EX-HT2-402-10 transmitter provides a direct, local HDMI output that mirrors the connected source. This feature is extremely versatile and can be used in several ways:
-
Local Monitoring – Connect a nearby display, projector, or confidence monitor to view the source content without requiring a receiver. This is especially useful in control rooms, classrooms, and AV racks where the source needs to be monitored locally.
-
Signal Verification – During installation, the loop out can be used to quickly confirm that the source device is outputting video correctly before sending the signal across the HDBaseT link.
-
Dual Display Applications – Use the loop out to drive a local display while simultaneously extending the same signal to a remote display via the receiver, creating a simple two-screen setup without requiring a matrix or splitter.
-
Integration with Additional Equipment – The loop out can also feed devices such as AVRs (audio video receivers), scalers, or streaming encoders if a secondary local HDMI signal path is needed.
By including this output, the EX-HT2-402-10 adds flexibility, reduces the need for additional HDMI splitters, and makes installation more efficient.
